MORRIS COMBEL GOTTESMAN

MORRIS COMBEL GOTTESMAN, a resident of the Laconia Community, President of Gottesman Enterprises and husband of Allene Gottesman died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Methodist Fayette Hospital in Somerville. He was 65 years of age and died unexpectedly.

Private Funeral services for Mr. Gottesman were conducted in New Orleans at 12 Noon, Tuesday, April 6th. Interment followed in the Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Gottesman was born in New York, New York on March 18, 1945, the son of Morris Gottesman and Fay Combel Gottesman, who have both preceded him in death.

He later moved with his family to Louisiana where he received his education in the New Orleans Public School System and enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served during peacetime.

An Electrical Engineer, Mr. Gottesman retired from the General Motors/Chrysler Corporation in 1989 and founded Gottesman Enterprises, an oil and minerals company.

He married the former Allene Marie Solari on September 9, 1999, who survives.

A Catholic and "people-person", Mr. Gottesman was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling and animals. Cooking and exploring history were also among his favorite pastimes.

In addition to his wife, survivors of Mr. Gottesman include his daughter, Suzette Marie Earle of Northridge, CA; his son, Morris C. Gottesman, Jr. of Laconia and his grandson, Scott Eric Gottesman.
