Morton Paul Carraway

Morton Paul Carraway, age 76, resident of the Bethlehem Community and husband of Laura Featherstone Carraway, departed this life Monday morning, November 23, 2015 at his residence.

A Private Interment for Mr. Carraway was in the Hebron Cemetery in the Bethlehem Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Carraway was born April 1, 1939 in Stanton, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Fayette County High School Class of 1957 where he was an honor student. He was employed in the warehouse at the Fowler Gin in Somerville and also was a parts salesman at Taylor Auto Parts in Somerville before his retirement. Mr. Carraway was married December 8, 1961 to the former Laura Featherstone. He was a lifelong resident of Fayette County and a member of the Bethlehem Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing pool, collecting knives and building and repairing many things in his shop. Special times with his granddaughter and his pet dog, Lily, were important parts of his life.

Mr. Carraway is survived by his wife of 54 years, Laura Featherstone Carraway of the Bethlehem Community; his son, Alan Wade Carraway and his girlfriend, Brandy Gainey of the Bethlehem Community; his granddaughter, Anna Carraway; his nephew, Danny Pattat (Cindy); his great nephew, Ryan Pattat; and his cousins, Leonard Carraway (Cindy) and Billie Carroll (Rick).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morton Buford Carraway and Goldie Pattat Carraway and his sister, Geneva Pattat.
