Mrs. Jerry Lee (Davenport) Gwyn

Mrs. Jerry Lee Davenport Gwyn, age 86, resident of Dayton, Texas, former resident of the Oakland Community and wife of the late Allen Dewitt Gwyn, Jr., died Friday morning, October 13, 2017 at her residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Gwyn are incomplete and will be announced by the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville.

Mrs. Gwyn was born November 27, 1930 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Alfred Davenport and Loy Elba Davis Davenport. She was married February 2, 1952 to Allen Dewitt Gwyn, Jr., who preceded her in death on October 23, 2009. Mrs. Gwyn was employed as a secretary for the University of Tennessee before her retirement. She was a former resident of the Somerville area before moving to Dayton, Texas to be close to her family. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Oakland, Tennessee.

Mrs. Gwyn is survived by two sons, Steven M. Gwyn and Allen E. Gwen.
