Nancy Sue (Wallace) Kemp

Nancy Sue Wallace Kemp, age 61, resident of the Hickory Withe Community and wife of the late Dr. Timothy Lee Kemp, died Thursday morning, October 12, 2017 at her sister’s residence in Universal City, Texas.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Kemp will be conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Keith Blessing, pastor of the New Life Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. A visitation for Mrs. Kemp will be from 1 until 2 P.M. Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Kemp was born August 6, 1956 in San Antonio, Texas. She was a graduate of Canyon High School in New Braunfels, Texas, Class of 1974 and attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. While in college, she met Tim Kemp and was married in Kirby, Texas on May 23, 1981. Mrs. Kemp was a homemaker throughout her life and enjoyed traveling, crafts and sewing. Nancy and Tim, with daughters, Laura and Bethany, moved to the Memphis, Tennessee area for Tim’s work in 1992. They added son, Taylor, to their family the next year. She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother.

Mrs. Kemp is survived by two daughters, Laura Leanne Kemp Love (Brett) of Memphis, TN, Bethany Anne Kemp of Minneapolis, MN; her parents, Frank Laurette Wallace and Mozelle Adams Wallace of Atascosa, TX; three sisters, Marsha Aldridge (Mark) of Atascosa, TX, Melissa Van Buren (Larry) of Universal City, TX, Kelly Eakins (Mark) of Bulverde, TX; her brother, Frank L. “Sam” Wallace, Jr. (Margaret) of Universal City, TX; four grandchildren, Ellen Love, Katie Love, Caleb Love, Jack Love; sixteen nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Timothy Lee Kemp who died December 4, 2012; her son, Taylor Makalous Kemp who died September 20, 2014; her grandparents, Frank and Agnes Wallace and Ranza and Maude Adams; and her nephew, Steven Eakins.

Nancy’s family fondly remembers Nancy for her great faith, especially through great adversity. She has touched many lives for Christ through her example of trusting God.
