Nancy Catherine (Gebhardt) Simonton

Nancy Catherine Gebhardt Simonton, age 78, resident of Germantown, Tennessee and wife of the late William Norris Simonton, departed this life Saturday afternoon, December 30, 2017 at Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Simonton was held at 11 A.M. Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Pollard Chapel of Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Simonton was born February 13, 1939 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a graduate of Greenhills High School in Greenhills, Ohio and was married May 3, 1958 to her high school sweetheart, William Norris Simonton. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Jaffrey-Rindge School District and also co-owned Bryant Gardens Greenhouses before her retirement. Mrs. Simonton loved the Lord and was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova. She enjoyed special times with her family and friends, quilting, games, playing cards and bowling and she ran the WII bowling game at The Village at Germantown.

Mrs. Simonton is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Desmarais (John) of Oakland, TN; her son, Richard Simonton (Cathy) of Davenport, FL; two sisters, Donna Schupp of Novi, MI, Myrna Froelich of St. Cloud, FL; six grandchildren, Kristen Demmons (Jeremy), J.D. Desmarais (Amanda), Jeff Simonton (Marissa), Christofer Simonton, Aaron Simonton, Tyler Simonton; and ten great-grandchildren, Katelyn Demmons, Jenna Demmons, Olivia Desmarais, Jack Desmarais, Kallie Demmons, Lucy Desmarais, Hannah Desmarais, Marshall Simonton, Dominic Simonton and Lincoln Simonton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Norris Simonton and her parents, Raymond Dewey Gebhardt and Catherine Marie McEvoy Gebhardt.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Bellevue Baptist Church , 2000 Appling Road, Cordova, TN 38016.
