Naomi Celeste Robinson Stephens, resident of Memphis with extended family members in Fayette County and wife of the late David W. Stephens died Tuesday morning, July 5, 2011 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis where she had been a patient for a day. She was 84 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Services Honoring the Life of Mrs. Stephens were conducted at 11 A.M. Thursday, July 7 th at the Graveside with remarks given by family and friends. Interment followed in Memphis National Cemetery on Jackson Avenue. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Stephens was born July 12, 1926 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, C. D. Robinson and Rose V. Holly Robinson. Mrs. Stephens was educated in the Arkansas Public School System and was married October 5, 1947 to David W. Stephens who preceded her in death on October 10, 1979.
Mrs. Stephens is survived by her daughter Marilyn Stephens of Memphis. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Austin.
