Nathan Gene Gleaves, Sr., age 30, Memphis resident and owner of Gleaves Tree Service died Saturday morning, June 23, 2012 in Memphis.
Services for Mr. Gleaves will be at 10:30 Friday morning at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with interment in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. A visitation for Mr. Gleaves will be from 6 to 8 Thursday evening at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
Nathan was born March 20, 1982 in Memphis, son of Charles Austin Gleaves and Rene é Gleaves. He received his education in the Shelby County Public School System and enjoyed special times with his children and family. Drag racing, motorcycle racing and fishing were favorite pastimes. He was a Christian and will be remembered by family and friends for his everpresent smile.
Mr. Gleaves is survived by two sons, Nathan Gene Gleaves, Jr. of Holly Springs, MS, Gene Austin Gleaves II of Memphis; his parents, Charles Gleaves of Oakland, Rene é Gleaves of Memphis; two brothers, Jonathan Paul Gleaves, Sr. of Oakland, Nicholas James Gleaves of Lakeland; and his grandparents, Gene and Lisa Gleaves of Memphis, Marjorie Faulk of Murfreesboro, TN and Eddyejean Todd of Olive Branch, MS.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Tanner Adams, Clay Garner, James Garner, Jay Garner, Calvin Smotherman and Josh Smotherman.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
