Marjorie Nell Ferge Fraser, age 72, resident of the Somerville Community, retired Federal Compress manufacturing employee and wife of the late Vernon Graham Fraser died at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.
Services for Mrs. Fraser will be at 2 Saturday afternoon at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery at Laconia. A visitation for Mrs. Fraser will be from 6 to 8 Friday evening at the Peebles Main Chapel in Somerville.
A native of Fayette County, Mrs. Fraser was born December 9, 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lofton Ferge and Laura Ashmore Ferge. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was married June 5, 1954 to Vernon Graham Fraser of Fayette County and a World War II Veteran, who died August 26, 1994.
Mr. and Mrs. Fraser were former residents of the Whiteville Community and Memphis. Mrs. Fraser was employed by the Federal Compress in Memphis for a number of years before her retirement and she had been a resident of the Somerville Community for the past 18 years. She was a former resident of the Whiteville Community and was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at Whiteville.
She will be remembered as a beloved mother and grandmother who was an avid fisherman. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, family times, country music, crocheting, camping, boating and all outdoor activities.
Mrs. Fraser is survived by two sons, Jerry Wayne Fraser (Peggy Hilliard) and David Michael Fraser, both of Somerville; two brothers, Billy Ferge of Covington, Frank Ferge of Whiteville; six grandchildren, Theresa Gail Orr of Millington, Michael Allen Dunson of Waterford, MS, Bryan Kenrick Pafford of Bartlett, John Vernon Sims of Jonesboro, AR, Melissa Gail Hollaway of Conway, AR, Jason Dewayne Fraser of Memphis; and fourteen great grandchildren.
Mrs. Fraser was also preceded in death by two daughters, Joyce Faye Wright, Vivian Elaine Warren; her son, Donald Glen Fraser; and sisters, Willie Mae Hayes and Thelma Jean Luke.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers will be Michael Dunson, Bryan Pafford, Jason Fraser, John Sims, Eddie Wilson, Johnny Dowdy and Billy Ferge.
