Neola (Harbin) Sutton

November 18, 1928 — April 26, 2018

Grand Junction, Tennessee

Neola Harbin Sutton, age 89, resident of Grand Junction, Tennessee and wife of the late Benjamin Franklin “Frank” Sutton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, April 26, 2018. She died at the Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Sutton were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Grand Junction First Baptist Church with Bro. Troy Styers, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Grand Junction Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Sutton was born November 18, 1928 in Hardeman County, the oldest daughter of Johnnie Hawkins Harbin and Remer McKee Harbin. She received her education in the Middleton area and was married May 22, 1948 to Benjamin Franklin “Frank” Sutton, who preceded her in death on July 12, 2003. She was a longtime resident of Grand Junction and was very active in her church, Grand Junction First Baptist Church, where she was the church secretary for 40 years. She was also very involved with the Ames Plantation where she cooked many meals. Her passion in life was serving others, especially through her cooking and fellowship with her family and friends.

Known to her family as “MamaDee”, she leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Edith Sutton Taylor (Jerry) of Grand Junction, TN; her son, Ronnie Sutton (Reta) of Grand Junction, TN; her sister, Sue Harbin Hodge (Billy) of Hornsby, TN; her brother, Terry Wayne Harbin of Hornsby, TN; three grandchildren, Nicole Taylor of Somerville, TN, Natalie Taylor McConnell (Matt) of New Johnsonville, TN, Bryan Sutton (Paige) of Saltillo, MS; four great-grandchildren, Bentley Sutton, Taylor Jane McConnell, Callie Sutton, Davis McConnell and one great-grandchild on the way. She also leaves her close church family who she cherished dearly.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sadie Marie Harbin Landreth, Lathaler Jean Haire and her brother, Johnnie Earl Harbin.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Bryan Sutton, Mike Landreth, Anthony Landreth, Matt McConnell, Rick Carlisle and Alan Houston.
