Nevie Randolph
1930—2010
Nevie Lorain Manley Randolph, resident of the Somerville Community and wife of the late T. R. Randolph, Sr. died Thursday morning, September 23, 2010 at her residence. She was 79 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Randolph were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, September 24
th
at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Dean Manley of Jackson, TN, officiating. Interment followed in the Stanton Cemetery in Stanton, TN. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Randolph was born in Dancyville Community of Haywood County on November 19, 1930, the daughter of the late William Joe Manley, Sr. and the late Nettie Pearl Stokes Manley. She was educated in the Haywood County Public Schools and was married 1955 to the late Theodore Roosevelt “T. R.” Randolph, Sr. who died in 1998.
Mrs. Randolph was a former resident of Houston, TX before returning to West Tennessee in 1997 to enjoy her remaining years near family and friends. She had been a resident of Somerville since 1998. Mrs. Randolph was a member of the Somerville First Baptist Church and will be remembered as a person who enjoyed helping and giving to others. Her many interests included traveling, reading her Bible and special times with her family. She was an avid fan of Loretta Lynn and always lived by four principles, faith, family, community and fun.
Survivors of Mrs. Randolph include her daughter, Amy Caraway (James) of Somerville, her son, Ted Randolph (Debra) of Tyler, Texas, three grandchildren, Jamie Caraway, Amber Caraway, Jennifer Carney (Jason), her sisters, Gertrude Davis of Jackson, TN, Jesse Turner of Jackson, TN, Lottie Davis of Brownsville, TN, Wilma Campbell of Brownsville, TN, her brother Everett Manley of Jackson, TN, three step-granchildren, James Cowart, Amanda Cowart, LeAnn Cowart and five step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Randolph was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Scarlett Randolph, her sister, Nadine Taylor, two brothers, Joe Manley, Jr. and Earl Manley.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Chris Campbell, Ray Campbell, Royce Campbell, James Cowart, W. C. Dunn and Johnny Roberts.
Honorary casketbearers were Eddie Carlin, J. W. Freels and Robbie Turner.
