NINA LOVE TAPP PATTAT, longtime resident of the Somerville and Bethlehem/Hebron Communities of Fayette County and wife of C. E. Pattat, Jr. died Tuesday morning, December 2, 2008 at the Methodist Hospital Fayette in Somerville. She was 80 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pattat were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel in Oakland with the Rev. Ann Bledsoe, Pastor of the Shiloh United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Hebron Cemetery of the Bethlehem Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
A native of Brighton, Tennessee, Mrs. Pattat was born September 8, 1928. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul T. Tapp and Ruth Nichols Tapp. She moved at an early age with her family to Fayette County and was educated in the Fayette County Public School System. She was married November 5, 1946 to C. E. Pattat, Jr., retired Fayette County Landowner and Farmer, who served as Fayette County Sheriff in earlier years.
Mrs. Pattat was a homemaker throughout her life and also served in past years as an Administrative Assistant for the Wilder Youth Development Center in Somerville. She was a longtime member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed University of Memphis Basketball and attending sporting events that her children and grandchildren participated in.
Mr. and Mrs. Pattat resided in the Somerville Community for many years until recently moving to the Bethlehem/Hebron Community to be near their son for health reasons.
In addition to her husband of sixty-two years, Mrs. Pattat is survived by her son, Eddie Pattat, currently serving as Fayette County Register; one sister, Ruby Doyle of Somerville; one brother, Tom Tapp of Somerville; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Love Crook in 1981; four sisters: Eva Bowling, Dorothy Clark, Mary Rogers and Minnie Mindez and two brothers, Martin Tapp and Charles Tapp.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Harold Pattat, Bill Pattat, Jr., Steve Pattat, Rod Pattat, John Pattat, Brent Pattat, Clint Doyle and Clay Williams.
The family request that Memorials be directed to the Shiloh United Methodist Church or to the Hebron Cemetery Association.
