NINA ELIZABETH MARIE REINER SHIPMAN

November 24, 1933 — January 15, 2009

NINA ELIZABETH MARIE REINER SHIPMAN, a resident of the Moscow Community and former resident of the Rossville Community died Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Gallaway Health Care Center where she had resided for the past three weeks. She was 75 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shipman were private and interment will be at Horseshoe Lake, Arkansas. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.

A native of Cambridge, England, Mrs. Shipman was born November 24, 1933. She was educated in the United Kingdom School System and was a graduate of the Cambridge School of Nursing.

She moved to the United States at the age of nineteen with her late husband, Donald Edward Shipman, a U. S. Air Force Career person. Mr. and Mrs. Shipman resided in various locations of the United States during his army career and before his death on January 20, 1998.

Mrs. Shipman was of the Christian faith and served as a caregiver and Registered Nurse for a number of years before her retirement. She was employed in the cardiac care unit of several hospitals and will be remembered for her care and concern for patients who later became friends.

Her interests included knitting and reading.

Survivors of Mrs. Shipman include her daughter, Leesa Shipman Turner of Whiteoak, Missouri; a son, Donald Patrick Shipman of Memphis and four grandchildren: Misty Carville, Christy Shipman, Brandy Shipman and Shannon Turner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Kevin Michael Shipman, and also a granddaughter, Brittney Shipman of Fayette County, who died as the result of a 4-wheeler accident in 2003.
