Noble Wayne Preston, age 71, resident of Williston and husband of Patsy J. Bobbitt Preston, departed this life Wednesday evening, July 13, 2016 at his residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Preston were conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Gary Joyner officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed in the Macon Cemetery in the Macon Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel in Somerville.
Mr. Preston was born September 14, 1944 in Memphis. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Frankin Preston and Louise Lawson Preston. He was a graduate of West High School in Cleveland, Ohio and he served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Preston was employed as a firefighter with the City of Memphis and also was a bricklayer before his retirement. He was married December 31, 1989 to the former Patsy Bobbitt and was of the Catholic faith. He was a resident of Ohio before moving to Tennessee. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, hunting, camping and special times with his fireman friends.
Mr. Preston is survived by his wife of 26 years, Patsy Bobbitt Preston of Williston; three daughters, Patricia L. Lessel of Nashville, Angela M. Knight (Robert Beavers) of Munford, Tammy S. Kelly (Colden) of Portsmouth, NH; two sons, Malcolm A. Lessel of Atoka, Noble Wayne Preston, Jr. (Kayla) of Massachusetts; his sister, Gloria Cruise (Roger) of Erie, PA; his brother, James McDowell of Cleveland, OH; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Malcolm Lessel, Robert Beavers, Brian Pasco, Colden Kelly, Jackie Sisco and Jeff Malone. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Bobbitt, Bobby Bobbitt and Tyler Malone.
