Norma Jean Hollinger Patton, age 77, resident of Memphis and wife of the late Joe Patton died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Patton will be at 2 P.M. Friday at the Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville with Pastor Doug Simmers of Arlington officiating. A visitation for Mrs. Patton will be from 11 Friday morning until 12 noon at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Patton was born May 23, 1935 in Angola, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Hollinger and Mabel Smith Hollinger. She received her education in the Indiana Public School System and was married in 1959 to Joe Patton. Mr. Patton preceded her in death in 2002.
A Christian, she lived in Collierville for 38 years before moving to Memphis three years ago. She enjoyed flower gardening and animals, particularly cats and dogs. Mrs. Patton will be remembered for her love for her family and grandchildren.
Mrs. Patton is survived by her daughter, Andrea Kerr (Robert) of Oakland; her son, Patrick Patton (Judy) of Tupelo, MS; her stepdaughter, Pamela Malone of San Diego, CA; her sister, Nancy Greek of Defiance, OH; her brother, Tom Miller of Kendallville, IN; three grandchildren, Tina Bethay (Daniel), Regina Peebles (Joe), Scott Rollins (Stephanie); a host of great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Patton was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Patton.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Baptist Trinity Hospice House, 1520 West Poplar Avenue, Collierville, TN 38017.
