Norman Kyle Huggins, age 84, resident of Oakland, United States Army Veteran and husband of Betty Sue Huggins, departed this life Wednesday morning, April 13, 2016 at the Kings Daughters and Sons Home in Bartlett.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Huggins were conducted at 10 A.M. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Scotty Shows, a retired minister at Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova, officiating. Interment followed in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Eastview in McNairy County, Tennessee. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Huggins was born March 11, 1932 in Guys, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Ramer High School Class of 1950 and served his country in the United States Army as a young person. He was married May of 1956 to Betty Sue Huggins and was a lifelong resident of the West Tennessee area. Mr. Huggins was employed as a salesperson in the pneumatic tools industry and was a member of the Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and his family states that he was good with his hands.
Mr. Huggins is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Betty Sue Taylor Huggins of Oakland, Tennessee; three daughters, Ramona Huggins of Arlington, Tennessee, Karen Anderson and her husband, Larry, of Germantown, Tennessee, Julie Littleton and her husband, Eric, of Sevierville, Tennessee; two sons, Michael Huggins and his wife, Anna, of Erwin, Tennessee, David Huggins and his wife, Laura, of Oakland, Tennessee; his sister, Wilma Cooksey and her husband, Larry, of Collierville, Tennessee; three brothers Ed Huggins and his wife, Pat, of Cordova, Tennessee, Phillip Huggins of Corinth, Mississippi and Craig Huggins and his wife, Tammy, of Madison, Alabama; and sixteen grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvis Bailey Huggins and Arnie E. Weatherford Huggins and his sister, Nola J. Overton.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Ethan Huggins, Nathan Huggins, Jared Huggins, Caleb Littleton, Ryan Anderson and Stephen Curl. Honorary pallbearers included Lee Anderson.
