Ola Simpkins Dowdy

OLA SIMPKINS LEATH DOWDY, 93, resident of Wiggins, MS and a longtime resident of the Bethlehem Community of Fayette County, died February 17, 2008. Services, 11 A.M. Thursday at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with interment at the Hebron Cemetery in the Bethlehem Community. Visitation from 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Dowdy was the wife of the late Willie Hardy Leath and after his death, was the wife of the late Fletcher Amos Dowdy. A homemaker and member of the Bethlehem Methodist Church, Mrs. Dowdy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Leath Holmes and Dr. James Holmes of Wiggins, MS; her son, Glen Curtis Leath of Cordova; 5 step-sons, Earl Dowdy, Vernon Dowdy, John Frank Dowdy, Ernie Dowdy and Danny Dowdy, all of Somerville; her sisters, Doris Thompson of Bullhead City, AZ, Maxine Reed of Trenton, MI; 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
