Opal Faye (Minor) Houston

Opal Faye Minor Houston, age 87, resident of Memphis, former resident of Fayette County and wife of the late Walter Houston of the Macon Community departed this life Saturday, November 16, 2013.
Services for Mrs. Houston were conducted at 12 Noon Tuesday, November 19th at the Moscow Evangelical Full Gospel Church. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston. Local arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. and Mrs. Houston were former residents of Fayette County. Mr. Houston was an educator in the Fayette County Public School System for a number of years before his retirement. Mrs. Houston will be remembered as a family-oriented person with Christian values.
Mrs. Houston is survived by her daughter, Sherry Byars of Memphis; two sisters, Lila West, Ruby McElwee; two brothers, J.T. Minor, Robert Minor; two grandchildren, Dena Feezor, James Byars; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Houston and her son, Harvey Houston.
