Pastor Tim Anthony Osborn, resident of the Somerville Community and beloved pastor of Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Oakland, peacefully departed this life Saturday morning, May 17, 2014 in the comfort of his home. He was 50 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Services Honoring the Life of Pastor Osborn were conducted at 10 A.M. Tuesday, May 20th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. The officiating ministers were David Crowe, Richard Atwood and Michael Gillock. Graveside Services followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64 with remarks given by Gwyn Pugh. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Pastor Osborn was born January 22, 1964 in Russellville, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Osborn and Mattie Jean Thompson Osborn. He received his education in the Alabama Public School System and was a graduate of the Baptist Bible College in Nashville, Tennessee. He was married December 21, 1985 to the former Robyn Barnes of Farmington, Missouri, who currently serves as a teacher at the Macon Road Baptist Church School.
Pastor Osborn had been a minister for over 25 years and had formerly served pastorates in North Carolina and was involved in church missions in the Memphis area before serving in Fayette County. Anyone that knew Tim knew without question that his God and his family were his passions and his church family was an important part of his life. At the time of his death, Pastor Osborn served as the chaplain for the Macon Fire Department in Macon, Tennessee. He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and was an avid football fan throughout his life.
In addition to his wife of 28 years, Pastor Osborn is survived by three daughters, Micah Walkley (Andrew) of Oakland, Emma Osborn of Somerville, Lydia Osborn of Somerville; four sons, Jordan Osborn of Cordova, Zachariah Osborn of Somerville, Seth Osborn of Somerville, Gabriel Osborn of Somerville; and his brother, Jim Osborn of Moulton, Alabama.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Ricky Raines, Scott Boelcke, Joe Spinks, James Griggs, Nick Williams and Jeremy Crook.
Honorary casketbearers were members of the Macon Fire Department.
