PAT ANN GRAVES BURKEEN
June 12, 1947 — January 23, 2009
PATRICIA ANN GRAVES BURKEEN, a resident of Somerville and a native of Fayette County died at 4:52 P.M. Friday, January 23, 2009 at the National Healthcare Center of Somerville where she had resided for seven months. She was 61 years of age and died following an extended illness of several months.
Funeral services for Mrs. Burkeen were conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, January 27th at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Kenny Bruce, Pastor of the Leawood East Baptist Church in Cordova, officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Burkeen was born January 12, 1947 in Somerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, William K. Graves, Jr. and Martha Woody Graves. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a graduate of the Fayette County High School, Class of 1965.
Mrs. Burkeen was a homemaker throughout her life and was of the Baptist faith. She was a former resident of Crittenden County, Arkansas and Shelby County before returning to Somerville last year.
She will be remembered as a family oriented person who enjoyed music, baking and crocheting. She was a devoted grandmother to her nine grandchildren.
Survivors of Mrs. Burkeen include her daughter, Cori Ringwald (Michael) of Millington; three sons: Michael Goelitz of Memphis; Eric Goelitz (Waverly) of Marion, AR and Rory Echlin of Millington; her sister, Jan Crook (Bobby) of Eads; her brother, William K. Graves, III (Shelly) of Memphis and nine grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Andrew Buralli, William Womble, Chris Crook, Ben Sykes, Chris Galloway and Danny Moon.
