Patricia Ann Burton, 79, resident of Memphis, Tennessee and the wife of late Norman Gene Burton, departed this life Friday morning February 9, 2024.
Patricia was born in Arkansas, May 24, 1944, the daughter of Gilbert Melton and Gertrude Glover. She married her soulmate, Gene, on October 10, 1980 and they had 2 children, Becky and Alan, who Patricia adored.
Patricia was a dedicated wife, mother and nana to her grandkids. Family was Patricia’s most valuable treasure. Patricia also loved animals and had a special bond with her late shelties, Chase and Cody. She loved spending time petting Cody and caring for him.
Patricia had a deep faith in God. She lost her eyesight 25 years ago to Glaucoma. Her strong love of Christ allowed her to persevere through very challenging times. When she lost her husband to cancer 10 years ago, she struggled but continued to stay independent, hopeful and faithful throughout her entire life.
Patricia Burton was preceded in death by her parents, husband and David Melton. Patricia Burton is survived by brothers, Steve and Mitchell Melton, daughter, Becky Childress, son, Alan Burton and grandsons, Noah and Parker Childress.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Burton were held at 2 P.M. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mike Hollaway, pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Rossville, officiating. Interment followed in the Macon Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Alan Burton, Steve Melton, John Childress, Noah Childress, Lance Burton and Billy Burton.
