Patsy Jane “Pat” Chandler Springs, age 69, resident of Memphis, departed this life Thursday morning, May 5, 2016 at the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Springs were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, May 9, 2016 with Father Stephen Kenny, pastor of the St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Melrose Cemetery at Whiteville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Springs was born June 18, 1946 in Whiteville, the daughter of the late Tennie and C. P. Chandler. She was the youngest of eight children and attended schools in Whiteville, Michigan and Memphis, where she graduated from high school.
Pat worked all of her life in payroll and bookkeeping. She retired in 2007 from Ace Machines due to illness and health problems. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, traveling, cooking, T.V., her family and dogs.
Mrs. Springs is survived by three sisters, Mary C. Taylor and her husband, James, of Memphis, Peggy Ryczek and her husband, John, of Germantown Bettie C. Corbin of Molino, Florida; and her brother, Charles R. Chandler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, James W. Ray and three brothers, Paul A. Chandler, Columbus P. Chandler, Jr. and Donald W. Chandler.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
