PAUL "Hard Head" LESLIE KING

September 18, 1962 — August 22, 2009

PAUL LESLIE "HARD HEAD" KING, a resident of Memphis with extended family members in Somerville and Fayette County and husband of Melinda King died at 10:32 A.M. Saturday, August 22, 2009 at his residence. He was 46 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Funeral services for Mr. King were conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 27th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Loyd Shelton, Baptist Minister of Rossville, officiating. Personal reflections were given by Mr. King's son, Virgil Paul King. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. King was born September 18, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Marion T. King and the late Virginia McDonald King.

He moved to Memphis at an early age and received his education in the Memphis City Public School System.

He was married June 8, 1984 to the former Dianne Glore, Customer Service Representative for the Accredo Medco Pharmacy, who survives.

Mr. King was of the Baptist faith and was a former resident of the Drummonds Community in Tipton County.

He was employed as a Driver for the Armstrong Trucking Company for a number of years before retiring for health reasons.

He was a family-oriented person who enjoyed dirt-track racing and was known by his citizens band radio friends for his CB handle, "Hard Head".

In addition to his wife, Mr. King is survived by his daughter, Cindy Lynn King of Memphis; his son, Virgil Paul King of Memphis; his father, Marion T. King of Memphis; his granddaughter, Elizabeth Michelle May Aycock of Corinth, MS; one sister; two brothers; his four-legged son, "Freckles" and two four-legged grandsons, "Oreo" and "RinRin".

Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Bill Langner, Scotty King, Bryan Tanner, Larry D. Cross, Andrew Cotton and Don Schulties.
