Pauline Diane "Polly" Guay Fadgen, age 78, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and wife of Richard D. Fadgen, departed this life Sunday afternoon, October 7, 2018 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Fadgen was held at 2 P.M. Friday, October 12, 2018 at the St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Somerville with Father Robbie Favazza, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Fadgen was born January 14, 1940 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, the daughter of Dr. Aurelien E. Guay and Aurise Harpin Guay. She was married April 23, 1960 to Richard Dennis “Dick” Fadgen and was a member of the St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Oakland. She was employed as a graduation analyst at the Fogelman College of Business at the University of Memphis for 25 years before her retirement. Mrs. Fadgen enjoyed cooking, traveling, playing slot machines and special times with her family.
Mrs. Fadgen is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard Dennis “Dick” Fadgen of Oakland, TN; three daughters, Ashley Fadgen Davis of Bartlett, TN, Darren Fadgen Walton (Kim) of Lakeland, TN, Lindsay Fadgen Padilla (Robert) of Tulsa, OK; two sons, Daniel Patrick Fadgen (Jane) of Memphis, TN, Mark Erik Fadgen (Melissa) of Southaven, MS; her “adopted” son, J.J. McNelis (Mary) of Florida; her sister, Jeannine Jalbert (Ron) of Naples, FL; four brothers, Rene Guay (Beverly) of Bartlett, TN, Denis Guay of Mechanicsburg, PA, Bert Guay (JoAnne) of Ohio, Charles Guay (JoAnne) of Burrillville, RI; twelve grandchildren, Patrick, Beth, Brian, Jake, George, Shannon, Alex, Sofia, Gabrielle, Rebecca, Harrison, Mary Somers; and four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Maya, Caroline, Jordan; and one great-grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Aurelien E. Guay and Aurise Harpin Guay; her sister, Anne-Marie DeVuyst; and her brother, Donald Guay.
