Perry Samuel Doyle, resident of Memphis, former resident of the Oakland Community and retired commercial construction carpenter died Thursday evening, April 26, 2012 at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis where he had been a patient for one day. He was 81 years of age and died from injuries received in an automobile accident that occurred in Shelby County.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Doyle were conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday, May 5th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Pastor DeWayne Herring of the Lighthouse Apostolic United Pentecostal Church in Atoka officiating. Interment followed in the New Hope Church of Christ Cemetery near Middleton in Hardeman County. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Doyle was born August 12, 1930 in Hardeman County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Doyle and Tennie Ferrell Doyle. He received his education in the Hardeman County Public School System and was a resident of former resident of the Oakland Community before moving to Memphis a number of years ago. He was a longtime carpenter and construction supervisor in West Tennessee and was a member of the Local Carpenters Union #345 in Memphis.
He was a lifelong resident of West Tennessee and in earlier years enjoyed hunting, fishing and special times at the family weekend cabin at Big Sandy, Tennessee. Mr. Doyle received much pleasure in past years from his pet dog, Cocoa.
Mr. Doyle is survived by three daughters, M. Elizabeth Doyle Wilson of Drummonds, TN, Bobbie Jean Doyle Bridges of Brighton, TN, Martha Doyle Brown of Memphis, TN; two sons, Samuel Eugene “Sammy” Doyle of Brighton, TN, Lester Lee Doyle of Camden, TN; his sister, Frances Moss of Olive Branch, MS; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Mr. Doyle was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Brown, Lucy Bone; his brother, William Doyle; his granddaughter, Heather LeAnn Bridges and great grandson, Richard “Blake” Damron.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Jerry Brown, Mike Wilson, Jeff Cox, Wess Leyshon, John Queen and Dallas Bugg.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Lighthouse Apostolic United Pentecostal Church, where Mr. Doyle was a member, located at 2536 Tracy Road, Atoka, TN 38004.
