Peter "Pete" Lucius Reagan

Peter Lucius “Pete” Reagan, age 80, resident of Eads, Tennessee and husband of Mary Carolyn Gleason Reagan, died Saturday evening, November 4, 2017 at Pine Meadows Healthcare in Bolivar, Tennessee.

A Recitation of the Rosary was held at 7 P.M. Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Services of Remembrance for Mr. Reagan were conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Somerville with Father Robbie Favazza officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Reagan was born March 3, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee. He received his education at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis and served his country in the United States Marine Corps for six years. Upon honorable discharge, he reenlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He retired from the reserves in 1997 as a Master Sergeant. Mr. Reagan was a firefighter for the City of Memphis Fire Department for 30 years and retired as a Captain. After retirement, he continued to serve his country as the president of the Fayette County Marine Corps League.

Mr. Reagan is survived by his wife who he married April 28, 1962, Mary Carolyn Gleason Reagan of Eads, TN; four daughters, Celeste Constance Reagan of Paris, TN, Nannette Kelley (Gerald) of Somerville, TN, Erin Barentine (David) of Pensacola, FL, Maureen Jobe of Williston, TN; three sons, Michael Reagan of Missouri, Frank Reagan of Eads, TN, Pete Reagan of Eads, TN; two brothers, Walter Reagan of Mississippi, Jerry Reagan (Rita) of Cordova, TN; eleven grandchildren, Derek May, Corey Reagan, Amanda Hungerford, Jessica Moye (Scott), Devin Kelley, Brian Barentine, Brittany Barentine, Regan Barentine, Dalton Jobe, Maria Grace Jobe, Michael Hammons; four great-grandchildren, Madalyn Hungerford, Kaitlyn Hungerford, Mason Hungerford, Tyler May; three sisters-in-law, Elisa Reagan of New Mexico, Betty Reagan of Mississippi, Rita Reagan of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Reagan was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Somerville. He will be remembered for being a family-oriented person who enjoyed flower gardening, telling jokes, taking his grandchildren on day trips, and usually had a dog in his lap. Mr. Reagan loved classical music, Irish and Marine Corps hymns, all of which could make him cry at the drop of a hat. The most important thing to him was his wife and family. He never ceased loving and caring for them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester Reagan and Eva Matherne Reagan; two brothers, George Reagan, Joe Reagan; his son-in-law, Hugh Jobe; his sister-in-law, Madie Reagan; and two infant sisters.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Gerald Kelley, Devin Kelley, Corey Reagan, Scott Moye, Dalton Jobe and Frank Reagan. Honorary pallbearers were Pete Reagan, Jim Stewart, Walter Reagan and Jerry Reagan.
