PHA PHANPHAVONG, a native of Laos and a devoted member of the Arlington Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints died Friday evening, December 11, 2009 at the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis where she had been a patient for one day. She was 50 years of age and died unexpectedly during surgery.
Funeral services for Ms. Phanphavong were conducted at 7 P.M. Tuesday, December 15th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Arlington with Bishop Scot Canfield, of the church, officiating. Interment followed Saturday, December 19th in the Camp Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Fayetteville, Georgia. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Ms. Phanphavong was born March 2, 1959 in Laos. She received her education in her native homeland and had been a resident of West Tennessee for nine years.
She was a valued employee of the Receiving Department of the Jabil Circuit Company in Memphis at the time of her death.
Ms. Phanphavong will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and her many friends that she had grown close to at her church where she participated in numerous activities.
A proud future American, she eagerly looked forward to the attainment of her American Citizenship Status that was to be forthcoming in the very near future.
Survivors of Ms. Phanphavong include two daughters, Lamepian Xayavong of McDonough, GA and Pany Sricanhvieng of Atlanta, GA and four grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers were family members and friends.
