Rachel June (Woods) Witherspoon

Rachel June Witherspoon died on March 23, 2016 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland, Tennessee with the Pastor Eddie Little officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Witherspoon was born in 1939 in Dyer, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Cleatus Woods and Audrey B. Woods.  She was retired from Security Pacific after working 37 years in the banking business.  She was a member of the Hickory Withe Baptist Church of Eads, Tennessee.

June is survived by her husband of 58 years, Zane Wallace Witherspoon; her children, Mary Beth Sanchez (Marcus) of Macon, Georgia, and Randel Nelson Witherspoon (Jennifer) of Eads, Tennessee, and five grandchildren, Andria Carmen Sanchez Freeman (Geoffrey), Danielle Nicole Witherspoon Jones (Clayton), Stefan Gregory Kurt Sanchez, Benjamin Nathan Witherspoon, and Audrey Elise Witherspoon and two great-grandchildren, Sage Isabella & Tate Grey Freeman.  She is survived by seven siblings, Sylvia Fisher, Tom Woods (Rebecca Sue), Shirley McGill (Mac), Becky George (Billy), Bill Woods (Betty), Martha Ellen Roberts, and Cleatus Woods, Jr. (Reba) and 32 nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
