Ralph Samuel Burrows, age 95, resident of Rossville, Tennessee and husband of Barbara Perkins Burrows, departed this life Monday morning, August 7, 2023 at his home.
Ralph was born February 26, 1928 in Eads, Tennessee, the son of the late Hunter Eugene Burrows and Dorothy Morton Burrows. He was a farmer and livestock dealer for many years and worked at the Collierville and Somerville sale barns. He was the owner of Burrows Grocery and Western Store in Fisherville and also retired from the Shelby County Government. Ralph was a member of First Baptist Church Fisherville and loved his horses, mules and chickens. He was known as “Pop” to his grandchildren and many others.
Mr. Burrows is survived by his wife, Barbara Perkins Burrows; his daughter, Debbie Lovelace; three sons, Phil Burrows (Monica), Carl Burrows and Kim Burrows (Cindy); three sisters, Sue Dot and Jessie; three brothers, Joe Johnny and Richard; eight grandchildren, Mandy, Holly (Steve), Stephani (Allen), Rick (Brittnie), Chad, Allison, Hunter and Cody (Jacey); sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers and two grandchildren, Crystal and Jason.
Funeral Services for Mr. Burrowers were held at 11 A.M. Thursday, August 10, 2023 at First Baptist Church Fisherville. The officiating ministers were Bro. Jack Moore and Dr. Jeff James. Interment followed in Fisherville Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Steve Pleasants, Allen Peterson, Cody Burrows, Steve Burrows, Chad Lovelace and Houston Collins. Honorary pallbearers were Johnie Mynatt, Tate Thomas, Billy Sturdivant, Rick Joyner and Hunter Burrows.
