William Ralph Leath, Jr., age 70, former resident of Moscow and husband of the late Barbara Harden Leath, departed this life Sunday afternoon, December 13, 2015 at the National HealthCare Center in Lewisburg, Tennessee.
Graveside Services for Mr. Leath were conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64 with Bro. Boyce Wilson of Somerville officiating. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Leath was born July 10, 1945 in Memphis. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ralph Leath, Sr. and Mable Wilson Leath. He received his education in the Shelby County Public School System and was married June 16, 1967 to the former Barbara Harden, who preceded him in death on December 3, 2014. He was a cabinet maker for a number of years and was a farmer in Fayette County. Mr. Leath was a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church in Moscow and enjoyed Bible Study classes and drag racing.
Mr. Leath is survived by his daughter, Emily Ann Leath of Franklin, Tennessee; four sisters, Mary Alice Halliburton of Memphis, Marilyn Osteen of Texas, Bonnie Teague of Arkansas, Betty Moore of Memphis; and his brother, Johnny Leath of Rossville, Tennessee.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Leath was preceded in death by his sister, Rachel Holcomb.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
