RANDY JOSEPH HOWARD, resident of Jackson, Tennessee, Registered Nurse and U.S. Veteran with family members in Fayette County died Thursday evening, October 29, 2009 at the Jackson Regional Medical Center in Jackson, Tennessee. He was 55 years of age and died unexpectedly of natural causes.
Remembrance Services with Military Recognition were conducted for Mr. Howard at 3 P.M. Tuesday, November 3rd at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Interment will be in Florida and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Howard was born October 1, 1954 the son of the late Bernard M. Howard and Reba J. Gunter Howard.
He moved to Florida at an early age where he attended Tampa, Florida Public Schools. He completed his training as a Registered Nurse at the Shelby State Community College in Memphis and had been a resident of the Jackson Community for the past ten years.
He served in the United States Navy as a young person and in earlier years served as an R.N. for the Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis. In recent years he had served as a Corporate Registered Nurse traveling to various hospitals and locations when additional personnel were required.
Mr. Howard was of the Baptist faith and will be remembered as a history and science "buff". He developed many friends throughout his nursing career and was a family-oriented person who enjoyed traveling and preparing food for family gatherings.
Survivors of Mr. Howard include three sisters: Alicia (Alice) Howard Brown of Anniston, AL; Shirley Dunn and Sandra C. Stansberry, both of Tampa, FL; three brothers: Richard H. Howard of Palm Springs, FL; Benny Howard of Jesup, GA; Reggie Howard of Oakland and a number of nieces and nephews.
