Raymond Joseph Velpel

Raymond Joseph Velpel, age 70, resident of the Hickory Withe Community, retired software developer for First Tennessee Bank and husband of Wilma Velpel departed this life Monday morning, August 26, 2013 at the Gallaway Health Care Center.
Services for Mr. Velpel will be private and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Velpel was born February 16, 1943 in Peoria, Illinois. He received his education in the Peoria Public School System. He was married December 18, 1992 to the former Wilma Jean Crunk, who survives. He was employed as a software developer for First Tennessee Bank for 17 years before his retirement in 2002. Mr. Velpel enjoyed creating stained glass artwork, going to the casino and writing.
