Reuben Scott Rhea, Sr.

Reuben Scott "Rube" Rhea, Sr., 81, lifelong resident of the Somerville Community, owner of Rhea Oil Co. for forty-three years before his retirement and World War II Air Force Veteran, died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at the National Healthcare Center in Somerville.

Funeral services for Mr. Rhea were at 2 P.M. Monday at the church where he was an Elder and a devoted lifelong member. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery.

A person active in the community, business, agricultural and religious activities of Fayette County throughout his life, Mr. Rhea served as a Director for the First State Bank in Somerville and the National Field Trials at Grand Junction where he was an active participant for many years. He was a longtime member of the Tennessee Oil Marketers Association and had a lifelong love of agriculture and Angus cattle.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Marshall Rhea; his son, Reuben Scott Rhea, Jr. (Margaret Ann) of Somerville; five grandsons and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Whitney Burnette Rhea, his parents, William A. and Jessie Scott Rhea, his son, Boyd B. Rhea and his brother, William A. "Bill" Rhea.
