Rev. Monta Ann Bledsoe, age 68, resident of Horn Lake, Mississippi, former resident of Fayette County and retired United Methodist Pastor, departed this life Monday morning, June 1, 2015 at the Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, Mississippi.
Services of Remembrance for Rev. Bledsoe were conducted at 12 Noon Monday, June 8th at the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Somerville with Rev. Barbara Blackmon-Fortune officiating. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Rev. Bledsoe was born October 6, 1946 in Greenville, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Fred Bledsoe, Sr. and Monta Harding Bledsoe. She attended Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee and served throughout the Mid-South as a United Methodist Church pastor before retiring for health reasons. She was a former resident of Fayette County and resided in Horn Lake, Mississippi at the time of her death. Rev. Bledsoe enjoyed cross-stitching, traveling and preaching.
Rev. Bledsoe is survived by her daughter, Margaret Reynolds of Horn Lake, MS; two brothers, Joseph Fred Bledsoe of Nashville, TN, Gary Bledsoe of Washington, DC; and her grandchild, Lee Paace Akins of Horn Lake, MS.
