Richard Anthony Muntz

Richard Anthony “Pop” Muntz, age 70, resident of the Laconia Community and husband of Brenda Muntz, departed this life Tuesday morning, December 6, 2016 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Muntz were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Mr. Muntz’s brother, Robert Eugene Muntz, officiating. Interment followed in the Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Muntz was born May 4, 1946 in Millington, Tennessee, the son of the late William Edmond Muntz and the late Ona Mae Martin Muntz. He received his education in the Tipton County Public School System and was married November 5, 1972 to the former Brenda Gail Walls. He served as a farmer throughout his life and was a resident of Millington, Tennessee and Dallas, Texas before moving to the Laconia Community in 1991. Mr. Muntz was of the Christian faith and enjoyed gardening, playing cards, video games, billiards and special times with his grandchildren.

Mr. Muntz is survived by his wife of 44 years, Brenda Gail Walls Muntz of Laconia, TN; two daughters, Rebecca Thompson (Robert) of Laconia, TN, Jessica Walls of Brownsville, TN; his son, Michael Muntz of Murfreesboro, TN; his brother, Robert Eugene Muntz (Sandra) of Hickory Withe, TN; and four grandchildren, Shane Muntz, Alan Thompson, Jacob Meulenberg and David Aiden Taylor.
