Richard Wade Rottgering

July 25, 1942 — June 28, 2013

Germantown, Tennessee

Richard Wade Rottgering, age 70, resident of Germantown, Navigator for the Tennessee Air National Guard for 33 years before his retirement and husband of Phyllis Gaither Rottgering departed this life Friday morning, June 28, 2013 at his residence.

Services with Military Honors for Mr. Rottgering were conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, July 2nd at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Joe Jernigan of the Bellevue Baptist Church officiating. Personal remarks and reflections were given by Chris Hodges. Special music was provided by John and Shirley Jolly. Graveside Services were conducted at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, July 3rd at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Germantown.

A devoted member of Bellevue Baptist Church and a very loving and faithful husband, Mr. Rottgering leaves a host of family members and friends.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Buck Clark, David Deckard, Roy Allen, Wes Roberson, Ronnie Cowles, Dalton Stover, William Harrell and Robert Harrell. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Gaither, Larry Gaither, Jim Gaither, Louis Gaither, Sam Gaither and David Compton.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the ALS Foundation of West Tennessee, 670 E. Warwick Lane, Collierville, TN 38017.
