RITA MAE TICE PEREZ
June 23, 1958 — May 22, 2009
RITA MAE TICE PEREZ, longtime resident of the Moscow Community and wife of Fernando Perez died at 9:31 A.M. Friday, May 22, 2009 at her residence on Old Main Avenue. She was 50 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Perez were conducted at 3 P.M. Sunday, May 24th at the Oak Grove Baptist Church near Moscow with Rev. David Parlow, Pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Perez was born June 23, 1958 in Fayette County the daughter of the late William H. Tice and the former Alma Owens.
She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a graduate of the Rossville Academy.
Mrs. Perez was a lifelong resident of the Moscow Community area and was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
She was married March 31, 2000 to Fernando Perez, an employee of the Troxel Manufacturing Company in Moscow, who survives.
She was a homemaker throughout her life and in earlier years was employed by the Nesbit Air Corporation in Somerville.
Mrs. Perez will be remembered as a family-oriented person who received much enjoyment in caring and sharing with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Perez is survived by two daughters, April Garrens (Brian) of Moscow and Carrie Gonzalez (Noe) of Lamar, MS; her mother, Alma Owens Tice of Moscow; her step-son, Rosalino Perez of Moscow; two brothers, Michael William Tice of Nashville and Jeffrey Ray Tice of Moscow and five grandchildren: Jacob Ray Kennon, Brandon Thomas Garrens, Paula Gonzalez, Deanna Gonzalez and Mia Faith Garrens.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Alfredo Agustin, John Crisp, Jose Gonzalez, Leno Perez, Frankie Robbins, Gary Taylor, Gary "Foots" Taylor, Jr. and Duane Watkins.
Lucio Cancino served as honorary casket bearer.
