ROBERT WILLIAM (BOB) HALL, SR., a resident of the Braden Community, United States Veteran and husband of, Marie Joyce Hall died at 12:41 P.M. Friday, August 28, 2009 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. He was 81 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Hall were held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 1st at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Greg Cook, Pastor of the Morris Memorial Baptist Church in Moscow, officiating. A eulogy was provided by Tim Houston, Sr. Interment, with Military Honors, followed in the Memory Hill Gardens Cemetery on Germantown Parkway. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
Mr. Hall was born on September 8, 1927 in Calhan, Colorado. He served in the U.S. Army during the World War II period and was married January 8, 1949 to the former Marie Joyce Wilson, who survives.
Mr. Hall was a former resident of Memphis before moving to Fayette County.
He was a retired employee of the E.L. Bruce Lumber Company, where he worked for 30 years and the Memphis Furniture Company for 12 years. In later years he was employed as a security officer for Memphis area companies.
Mr. Hall will be remembered as a family oriented who enjoyed fishing, nature and outdoor activities.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Mr. Hall is survived by his daughter, Joppie Houston of Memphis; 4 sons: Robert W. Hall, Jr. of Olive Branch, MS; Clarence David Hall of Brighton; Wayne F. Hall of Moscow; Jimmy Hall, Sr. of Braden; his sister, Enid Fredricks of Peyton, CO; his brother, Kenneth Hall of Drummonds; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers are Bobby Hall, David Hall, Wayne Hall, Jimmy Hall, Tim Houston, Jr. and Jimbo Hall.
