Robert William Lynch, age 72, resident of Oakland, departed this life Sunday afternoon, July 3, 2016 at his residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Lynch were conducted at 3 P.M. Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Gregory Artz, minister of the Oakland Church of Christ, officiating. Interment followed in the Macon Cemetery in the Macon Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Lynch was born July 28, 1943 in the Macon Community. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a lifelong resident of the Fayette County area. He was employed as an over-the-road truck driver for many years and with Gordon Terry Farms for almost 20 years as the farm supervisor. Special times with his family and friends was an important part of his life. In earlier years, Mr. Lynch enjoyed participating and attending horse shows and in later years, enjoyed watching westerns on television, especially John Wayne movies.
Mr. Lynch is survived by his sister, Margrette Hull of Olive Branch, Mississippi; five nieces, Judy Russell of Oakland, Sandy Wolfe of Oakland, Bonnie Claunch of Piperton, Joy Surles of Louisiana, Cindy Owens of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and his nephew, Buddy Hull of Olive Branch, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Will Lynch and Mallie Darnell Lynch; two sisters, Mildred Moody, Thelma “Billie” Culver; his niece, Johnnie Allen; and his nephew, Franklin Moody.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Taylor Wolfe, Tyler Wolfe, Mason DeGroot, Max DeGroot, Austin Allen and Timmy Shane Crutcher. Honorary pallbearers included Blake Barron.
