Robert Allen Petty

Robert Allen Petty, age 71, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and husband of Anne Petty, departed this life Tuesday evening, December 8, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.

Robert was born July 21, 1949 in Fargo, North Dakota, the son of the late Warren Lloyd Petty and Alice Louise Noltimier Petty. He graduated from North Dakota State University with a master’s degree in business and was married April 23, 1971 to the former Anne Mutchler. Robert was employed as a real estate specialist with the United States Postal Service for many years before his retirement in 2008.

Mr. Petty is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anne Petty of Oakland, TN; four daughters, Shannon Walker (Brian) of Madison, MS, Jessica Parkey of Bartlett, TN, Angela Jackson (Chris) of Memphis, TN and Alison Thompson (Brock) of Clearwater, FL; two sisters, Jeannie Lawrence (Art) of Susanville, CA and Joyce McNally (John) of Sparks, NV; three brothers, Bill Petty (Carol) of Fargo, ND, Russ Petty (Helen) of Colorado Springs, CO and Rick Petty (Linda) of Alexandria, MN; and nine grandchildren, Aaron Parkey, Amber Parkey, Mya Thompson, Jasmine Thompson, Dru Thompson, Caden Jackson, Chase Jackson, Jacob Walker and Collin Jackson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Gavin Petty.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
