ROBERT DOUGLASS "PACE" SPICER, a resident of Walls, Mississippi and a native Fayette Countian, died Saturday morning, June 7, 2008 at the residence of his sister with whom he resided. He was 42 years of age and died unexpectedly.
Funeral services for Mr. Spicer were conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, June 11th at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with the Rev. Rhesa Davis, Pastor of the Feathers Chapel Baptist Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Spicer was born in Somerville on April 29, 1966 the son of Marilyn Bobbitt and the late Melvin Ray Spicer.
Mr. Spicer was educated in the Fayette County Public School System and was a resident of Biloxi, Mississippi, for a number of years where he was employed by the casinos. After the destruction from Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi, Mr. Spicer moved to Walls to reside with his sister. He was a Christian and had a special closeness to his family that included his nieces and nephews.
Survivors of Mr. Spicer include his mother, Marilyn Bobbitt of Somerville; two sisters, Donna Faye Spicer Roberson (Harry, Sr.) of Walls, MS and Melissa Joyner of Gallaway; his brother, Anthony "Tony" Ray Spicer of Somerville and his nieces and nephews: Harry Roberson, Jr., Tonya Tielens, Zoe Nicole Spicer, Dustin Wade Roberson, Kristy Rayford, Breanna Michelle Rayford, Danny Rayford, Zaylie Sky Spicer, Gary DeWayne Rush, William David Spicer, Brent Allen Spicer, Richard Tielens, Danny Rayford, Jr., Joshua Everett, Jordon Everett, Bambi Everett and Taylor Tielens.
Honorary pallbearers were family members and friends.
The family request that Memorials be directed to the Charity or Organization of the donor's choice.
