ROBERT BENNETT WHITE, JR., a resident of the Bartlett Community, former resident of Fayette County and husband of Sandra White died Saturday morning, November 21, 2009 at his residence. He was 52 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. White were conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, November 25th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Bobby Holland, Youth Pastor of the Oakland First Baptist Church, officiating. Remarks and reflection were given by Mr. White's wife. Interment was private and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
Mr. White was born October 19, 1957 in Shelby County the son of Nona Belle Chism White and the late Robert Bennett White, Sr.
He was educated in the Bartlett Public School System and was a lifelong resident of Shelby and Fayette Counties.
He was married October 19, 1983 to the former Sandra Ellen Manz, who survives.
Mr. White was a trained Master Mechanic for many years for dealerships in the Memphis area including the Gateway Tire Company.
Mr. White was of the Baptist faith and served for a brief period in the United States Army in earlier years.
Restoring antique vehicles was a favorite pastime as long as health permitted. Mr. White enjoyed movies, fishing and family activities.
In addition to his wife of twenty-six years, Mr. White is survived by his mother, Nona White of the Hickory Withe Community and his sister, Donna Lee White of Germantown.
