Robert "Pete" Peterson

Robert Dixon “Pete” Peterson, age 79, resident of Somerville, Tennessee and husband of Donna Peterson, departed this life Tuesday morning, September 29, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Pete was born January 11, 1941 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Robert Fulton Peterson and Juanita Dixon Peterson. He graduated from Kingsbury High School in Memphis and attended Union University in Jackson. He was employed as a supervisor at International Harvester for many years before his retirement in 1992.

Pete was married September 19, 2008 to Donna Cleek Peterson and had been a resident of Somerville for the past 25 years. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Whiteville and where he served a short time as their music director. Pete loved music and played with a group of retired professional musicians.

Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife of 12 years, Donna Peterson of Somerville, TN; two daughters, Carla Hughes (Chuck) of Franklin, TN and Pam Slavick (Larry) of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Lisa Peterson of Florida and Ann LaDousier of Florida; his brother, David Peterson of Memphis, TN; and four grandchildren, Robert, Allison, Samuel and Patrick.
