Ronald “Ronnie” Lynn Reeves, resident of Memphis with extended family members in Fayette County, former construction company employee and husband of Elaine Reeves died Monday evening, July 2, 2012 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis where he had been a patient for two weeks. He was 60 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Reeves were conducted at 3 P.M. Friday, July 6th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Loyd Shelton of Rossville officiating. Interment followed in the Reid Cemetery in the Eads Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Reeves was born September 14, 1951 in New Albany, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Ruff Reeves, Sr. and Billie Jean Owens Reeves. He received his education in the Memphis City Public School System and was a graduate of the Oakhaven High School in Memphis. He was married February 4, 1985 to the former Elaine Gullett, a retired Memphis salesperson, who survives.
Mr. Reeves was a Christian and had resided for much of his life in the Shelby County area. He had been employed for over 30 years in the construction business and operating his own dump truck for area constructions. He will be remembered for the love that he has for his family and enjoyed gardening as long as health permitted.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Reeves is survived by two daughters, Charlain Nottenkamper of Virginia, Kerrie Hosch of Indialantic, FL; five sons, Shane Hines of Cordova, Jason Reeves of Memphis, William Reeves of Memphis, James Reeves of Memphis, Daniel Reeves of Memphis; two brothers, Ruff Reeves of Memphis, Phil Reeves of Collierville; and thirteen grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Zack Andrews, Shane Hines, Chris Reeves, Daniel Reeves, James Reeves, Jason Reeves, Steven Reeves, William Reeves and T.J. Smith.
