ROQUA RUSSELL WIELAND

ROQUA LUCILLE RUSSELL WIELAND, resident of the Eads Community and wife of the late Kenneth B. Wieland departed this life Monday morning, May 24, 2010 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett. She was 89 years of age and died unexpectedly.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Wieland were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, May 27th at the First Baptist Church of Fisherville with Rev. Jack Moore, Pastor of the Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Fisherville Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Wieland was born October 9, 1920 the daughter of the late Robert Russell and Grace McPike Russell. She received her education in the public school system of Carlisle, Illinois and was married June 15, 1940 to Kenneth B. Wieland who preceded her in death April 13, 1983.

Mrs. Wieland was a former resident of Memphis before moving to the Eads community 10 years ago. She was a devoted member of the Fisherville First Baptist Church where she participated in numerous church activities. Mrs. Wieland's life was characterized by love for Christ and witnessing her faith to others in her church and community. She was a licensed beautician in earlier years and her interests included traveling and special times with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors of Mrs. Wieland include her daughter: Catherine Knapp (Chuck) of Pensacola, Florida; 3 sons: Kenneth R. Wieland (Diane) of Matthews, North Carolina, David L. Wieland, Sr. (Rita) of Eads, Dennis E. Wieland of Eads; her sister Marjorie Russell West (Ron) of Sweet Home, OR; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Those honored to serve as casket bearers were: Ray Ramey, Pablo Solares, Chad Wieland, Mark Wieland, Russell Wieland, and David Wieland, Jr.
