Rosanna Lotho Sutton, resident of the Somerville Community, a retired director for patient care at the University of Tennessee Medical Units in Memphis and husband of the late William Hayward (Bill) Sutton died Friday evening, August 24, 2012 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett where she had been a patient for a number of weeks. She was 73 years of age and died following an illness of five months.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Sutton were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Somerville First Presbyterian Church with Rev. J. Michael Krech, former pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will be beside her husband in the Bozeman Cemetery in Bozeman, Maryland. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Sutton was born March 30, 1939 in Santa Rosa Laguna, Philippines. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zoilo Evangelista Lotho and Remedios Manguerra Casupang Lotho. She received her high school and college education in the Philippines and was a resident of Memphis before moving to Somerville a number of years ago. While in Memphis, she was employed at the University of Tennessee Medical Units for 20 years before moving to Memphis.
Mrs. Sutton was a devoted member of the Somerville First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed being a member of the church choir. She was married August 7, 1983 to William Hayward (Bill) Sutton, a chemical engineer for the CPS Corporation before his retirement. Mr. Sutton preceded his wife in death on June 18, 2005.
Mrs. Sutton will be remembered for her pleasant, outgoing personality and her love for beautiful things. She enjoyed traveling and caring for her yard that included plants and flower gardening. Her caring heart and giving spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
Mrs. Sutton is survived by her children, David Merrill of Memphis, William Sutton of St. Michaels, MD, Martha Manson of Lakeville, MN, Laura Stabell of Tomball, TX; two sisters, Estelita Lotho Varsovia, Doris Casupang Lotho; her brother, Mario Casupang Lotho; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by four brothers, Norberto Casupang Lotho, Jamie Casupang Lotho, Jorge Casupang Lotho and Zoilo James A. Lotho.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Somerville First Presbyterian Church, 12940 S. Main Street, Somerville, TN 38068.
