Roy Lee Austin

Roy Lee "Fat Bill" Austin, age 61, resident of Bolivar, former resident of Somerville and retired chicken processor, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, February 17, 2015 at the Bolivar General Hospital.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Austin was conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday, February 24th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Joyce Hester officiating. A Private Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Austin was born March 5, 1953 in Somerville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Perry and Leald Austin. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Austin was employed as a chicken processor for many years before his retirement. He was a resident of Fayette and Hardeman Counties for all of his life.

Mr. Austin is survived by two daughters, Sandy Baker of Memphis, Selena Baker of Rossville; his sister, Deborah Chearis (Paul) of Williston; two brothers, Willie Ray Austin (Monica) of Somerville, David Shaw of Memphis; and four grandchildren.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
