Roy Samuel Copeland

Roy Samuel Copeland, age 46, resident of Oakland, Tennessee, departed this life Sunday evening, March 25, 2018 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

A Celebration of Life Service for Roy was held at 3 P.M. Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Christ Presbyterian Church in Somerville. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Roy was born April 2, 1971 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Germantown High School Class of 1989 and received his Associate’s Degree at State Technical Institute (now Southwest Tennessee Community College) in Memphis. He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed world history. Roy will be remembered for being a perfectionist and everything he built was made with perfection. He was an avid reader who collected books and loved the time he spent with his pet dog, Fritz.

Roy is survived by his mother, Shirley Copeland of Oakland, TN; his father, Billy B. Copeland, Jr. of Dyersburg, TN; his sister, April L. Wiles of Somerville, TN; his niece, Hannah Wiles; and two nephews, Aidan Wiles and Liam Wiles.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Shelby County Chapter of the American Heart Association, 2170 Business Center Drive, Suite 1, Bartlett, TN 38134.
