DAVID ROY WYNN, a resident of Grand Junction and Memphis, retired Compliance Officer for the United States Department of Labor, Air Force Veteran and husband of Mary Beesing Wynn died Thursday afternoon, March 25, 2010 at the Bolivar General Hospital. He was 81 years of age and died following an extended illness.

A Funeral Mass for Mr. Wynn was held at 10 A.M. Monday, March 29th at the Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Memphis with Father Ernie Deblasio, officiating. Interment and Graveside Services followed at 2 p.m. Monday in the Grand Junction Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Arnold officiated. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.

Mr. Wynn was born October 14, 1928 in La Grange, the son of Edgar Eugene Wynn and Effie McNamee Parham, who have both preceded him in death.

He was a graduate of the Grand Junction High School, Class of 1946 and continued his education at the University Tennessee, graduating in 1959.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served during the Korean War Period.

Mr. Wynn was married June 8, 1957 to the former Mary Beesing, Ohio native and retired Administrative Dietician, who survives.

He retired as a Compliance Officer in 1989 from the United States Department of Labor where he was employed for twenty-eight years.

Mr. Wynn was a member of the Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Memphis and an avid antique car enthusiast who enjoyed pets and special times with his family.

In addition to his wife of fifty-two years, survivors of Mr. Wynn include two daughters, Carol Kincaid (David) of Cordova and Kathleen Slavick (John) of Germantown; two sons, David Wynn, Jr. of Oakland and John Wynn of Bartlett; his sister, Nelda Wilson (Robert) of Whiteville and nine grandchildren.

Those honored to serve as casket bearers were David Kincaid, John Slavick, Jonathan Wynn, Justin Wynn, Patrick Wynn and Jim Daymon.
