Whether she was babysitting in her home or teaching Sunday School or working at the church day school, she took pride in making sure the children around her were learning.
Mrs. Medley was a homemaker throughout her life and one of her biggest sources of satisfaction was seeing her grandchildren graduate from high school. She will be remembered as a hard worker and took much pride in doing a good job no matter what it was. During the Second World War, she worked for two years in a defense plant in Memphis making ammunition canisters. She was very proud of her country and the work she did to help win the war.
Mrs. Medley will be remembered for her love of music and talking over the telephone with some of her best friends. She also had a talent for writing poetry and songs. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ throughout her life and was a member of the Oakland Church of Christ at the time of her death, where she enjoyed participating in numerous church activities as long as health permitted.
