Ruby Celeste (Haase) Montague
November 20, 1937 — February 13, 2017
Ruby Celeste Haase Montague, age 79, resident of Somerville and wife of C.W. Montague, departed this life peacefully on Monday afternoon, February 13, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Montague were conducted at 11 A.M. Monday, February 20, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Donald Green, a Church of Christ minister and Missionary, officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Montague was born November 20, 1937 in Whiteville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto Haase and Lillian Dollar Haase. She received her education in the Hardeman County School System and was married in 1959 to Curry Williford (C.W.) Montague. She was a member of the Somerville Church of Christ and enjoyed preparing food and flowers. Mrs. Montague was a homemaker throughout her life and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Montague is survived by her husband of 58 years, Curry Williford (C.W.) Montague of Somerville, TN; two daughters, Brenda Barnes (Richard) of Conway, AR, Glenda Pounds (Alan) of Conway, AR; her son, Curry W. Montague (Dora) of Oakland, TN; her sister, Nell Snyder of Yucaipa, CA; and six grandchildren, Ryan Barnes, Lindsey Barnes, Beau Barnes, Krisztian Montague, Mark Montague and Attila Montague.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Dell Sublett, Jeneva Taylor, Mary Elizabeth Ann Haase; and two brothers, and two brothers, Murrel Haase and Everett Taylor Haase.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Ryan Barnes, Beau Barnes, Mark Montague, Attila Montague, Alan Pounds, Dr. Richard Barnes and Donnie Peak. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Tim Montague, Andy Montague, Hal Montague, Josh Horn and Chris Peak.
